Dolphins to hold public memorial for Jim Mandich on Wednesday at Sun Life Stadium

By Post Staff

A public memorial service for fans to honor beloved broadcaster Jim Mandich will take place at Sun Life Stadium on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:00 pm. The service will be a celebration of the life and achievements of Mandich during his 40 year career with the Miami Dolphins.

“Our entire family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love we have received not only over the last day but over the past 16 months during Jim’s battle with cancer,” the family said in a statement distributed by the team. “Jim had a true passion for the Miami Dolphins family and was proud that his name was synonymous with the team he so loved. Among his remarkable achievements, he was a wonderful, loving husband and father. We will miss him dearly. We thank the fans and the media for their ongoing support and their respect for our family’s privacy during this time.”

In lieu of flowers, the Mandich family asks that donations be made to the Dolphins Cycling Challenge that benefits the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer. Online donations can be made at ridedcc.com. Checks should be made out to “The Miami Dolphins Foundation” and addressed to:
