On Friday, there are 16 playoff games involving teams from our area. In the buildup to the games, we’ll break down every matchup.
Treasure Coast hopes its regular-season-ending 21-7 win over Palm Bay is a good sign of things to come. But don’t bet all your bucks on that. T-Coast has been one of the more unpredictable teams in the area, and the Titans need their good version to show up when they arrive in Tarpon Springs to play East Lake, a high-scoring team that hasn’t lost since September.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. General admission is $8; reserved seating is $9.

At first glance of what makes East Lake good, Treasure Coast appears to be in a bit of trouble. Not only are the Titans on the road, but they’re facing a good passing team with a good quarterback. For local football fans, the best area passing team Treasure Coast faced was Village Academy, which had 295 passing yards and three touchdowns on T-Coast’s secondary. T-Coast allowed 163 passing yards a game, which accounted for 11 touchdowns and 7.2 yards a completion. But the Titans did have 15 interceptions, something that could offset any yardage East Lake racks up with its air raid.
On offense, T-Coast possesses athletes who can do a lot, starting with Devin Ferguson. His 659 total yards are 34 percent of T-Coast’s entire yardage output, and he has 10 of the Titans’ 28 touchdowns. East Lake does give up points, and if T-Coast can get Ferguson in the open field, he can make things happen.
