PBC’s charter school director leaving for new job as charter school applications roll in

Faith-Ann Cheek, the former Jupiter Middle School principal who in December was named director of the Palm Beach County School District’s charter school department, has confirmed that she will be moving on.

Cheek said she and her family are relocating to the Dallas area so she can take a job as a principal there so she and her family can be closer to their grandparents and cousins.

Her last day is Thursday; she said the district began advertising for her position on Monday.

The Palm Beach County School Board on Wednesday is expected to vote to approve some mid-year principal shuffling.

On the board’s agenda are a few personnel moves that will mean county schools will be getting new leaders.

Faith Ann Cheek, who only this year moved from Christa McAuliffe Middle to be principal at Jupiter Middle School, is on the move again. She’s up for a transfer to be the director of the Charter Schools & Home Education department.

District spokesman Nat Harrington said the district will go through the normal process to find Cheek’s replacement.
