OK, I checked at 5 p.m. today and no new candidates had been added to the list of potential State University System Chancellor.
Here’s my read on the situation. If a real heavy hitter was going to apply, there’s still a chance he or she could put his or her name in before Monday when the Board of Governors meets to decide on the finalists. Because Florida has such an extensive “sunshine” or public records law, some prime candidates might not want their names out there until the last minute.
But the sources at the Board of Governors say it was important to have all the resumes to members of the search committee before the Monday meeting so they could have all weekend to go through them.
You guys look at the list. Is there anyone in there that can compete with Frank Brogan? I’m not going to tell you what I think, but I’m interested in knowing your thoughts.
